“The Harmful Effects of Smoking”

Smoking is an extremely bad habit that no one should every try in the first place; unfortunately many people do so any way. It is obvious that smoking is very harmful to the human body yet smokers ignore the warnings and signs even though they know the consequences, or do they?

Did you know that smoking is known to

ü  One in two lifetime smokers will die from their habit. Half of these deaths will occur in middle age; these people don’t even have the opportunity to experience being grandparents!

ü  Smoking and tobacco related products contribute to the development of various cancers.

ü  Smoking temporarily increases your heart rate and blood pressure.

ü  Smoking can cause heart attacks and strokes, its slows your blood flow, which stops oxygen from getting to your limbs, in severe occasions this can lead to your limbs being amputated!

ü  Men who smoke are ten times more likely to die from lung cancer than non-smokers.

ü  Smoking causes around one in five deaths from heart disease.

ü  In younger people, three out of four deaths from heart disease are due to smoking
